eprint not working - Deskjet 3070A

[ Edited ]

I am having lots of trouble getting my printer working on the eprint side of things.

The IP address is the same on my router/printer/HP eprint website so I dont know whats wrong.

My printer keeps coming up with 'The printer could not connect to the internet.Check Internet Connection"

The wireless side of things is working fine.

Re: eprint not working - Deskjet 3070A

Hi pooky2483,

How is your printer currently connected to the network? Via Ethernet or wireless? What is your current router/ network configuration? What does your printer show for it's IP address? What happens when you try to launch the apps?

Not yet having the information above, here's what I would try.

I would suggest reconnecting the printer to the network by running the Wireless setup wizard and try to launch web services again. If this does not help, you may need to change some DNS settings within the printers EWS (embedded web server) To do this, put the IP address into a browser window on your PC.

This should launch the EWS. Within the EWS, select the network tab. under the network tab, select "networking".

Then select "network address" (IP). Do not change the IP configuration at the top. Go to the bottom under "DNS Address configuration “and select "Manual DNS server”. Under manual DNS server, input 8.8.8.8 (one 8 in each box) on the first line, and 8.8.4.4 on the second line. Hit the "Apply" button at the bottom.

Now try to connect to Web Services again.

Wireless

Dont quite know how to answer that one and it's 192.168.0.2. Launching what apps? If you mean the ones bundles with the printer, I cant use them as I am running Ubuntu otherwise I use Libre Office, XSane Image Scanning Program mainly.

I will have a look at doing that but as it has been a long time since I first srt it up I cant quite remember what & how I did it. Do you mean the SW that I can get from a link off your site and try that again or something to do with setting setup on the printer itself.

Sorry if I am making this difficult for you.

Re: eprint not working - Deskjet 3070A

For your particular model, the settings should be in the Embedded Web Server (EWS) the same place you will need to set the Google DNS settings as mentioned above.

I understand you are already printing wirelessly, but some times it needs to be reassociated with the network to operate correctly.

Re: eprint not working - Deskjet 3070A

It's coming up with this too.

Screenshot at 2012-05-03 23:46:00.png

It's able to send printer config details to be printed but not eprint emails. also on the printers screen when it came up with the error in the screenshot, my printer reported it could not connect to the internet?

Re: eprint not working - Deskjet 3070A

Sorted it, I entered the 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in the DNS and it connected but the email address is different to the one I originally set up. Could you help me sort it out so I can use the one I set in the first place?
