Make sure router has bonjour activted(network diagnostic page should show this). Is Ipad updated firmware wise aswell?

That's affirmative to both. In fact, another iPad printer app found the printer (as a bonjour printer) no problem. But of course, since it isn't AirPrint, the best it could give me for printing form Pages and such was a work-around.
