iphone eprint issues.

I bought an HP printer with eprint (7500a) so that I could print off basement layouts, and cabinet layouts while in the construction field.

When I fwd an email with an attached plan from my Windows 7 laptop, it prints just fine. But I am unable to do that with my iphone. I am using hotmail for my email.

What do I need to do to be able to fwd an email and have it print out? I have read the reviews on the eprint app, and they are not great. I have the free version, but it does not allow printing emails, or attachements.

Thanks!

Re: iphone eprint issues.

Hi,

Since you are printer does not print when you send an email from iPhone, try any of the following:

1) Open the browser, login into your hotmail account and send the email. OR

2) Connect the iPhone to your network in wireless and check if it works or not OR

3) Use the AirPrint feature of the iOS device. Instructions given in below link on how to use AirPrint.

Re: iphone eprint issues.

I need to be able to print from the jobsite, not at home. But at home would be nice as well

I have my iphone connected to the wifi network. No it wont print from the network

browser printing??? ...you want me to upen safari on my iphone and actually go to hotmail.com and login and try to FWD an email to my printer? Correct? If I do that, there is no option to fwd an email, so I cant send it to the printer.

Airprint option?? I'm not sure how to use this. Will it work from the jobsite?

Re: iphone eprint issues.

Hi,

AirPrint feature of iOS device will work if iPhone is connected to same network to which printer is connected.

Since you do not have an option of forwarding an email, does it provide you with Reply or Reply All option? If Yes, select it, remove the email IDs from TO and CC fields and enter only the printer email in TO field and send the email.

Re: iphone eprint issues.

You can send email from an iPhone to the 7500a and have it print.  The printer doesn't really care where the email originated as long as you aren't blocking it in your ePrintCenter settings.  Here is an FAQ with some info that may help:  http://h30495.www3.hp.com/about/eprint#a2-3

Can you send any email and have it print or are you just having problems when forwarding an email?

To use airprint you need to make sure your firmware on the 7500a is current.  You can upgrade firmware using this link:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=4083...

The current version is:  2010-12-15 , Version:EMP1FN1048PR, 2.99M

You will also need to make sure your iPhone OS is current.

Re: iphone eprint issues.

Hi rtreads,  It seems to be your SMTP settings associated with your email settings.  I've asked another user on the forum what settings he changed to get this to work with his iPhone.  This is the thread where I asked for his solution:  http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile/iPhone-4-can-t-eprint-to-D-110-all-in-one-prin...

We'll see if he posts any info on the changes he made.  I'll keep looking around to see if I can find any additional information that may work for you.
