just purchased a hp photosmart 7510 trying to set up efax but have a registration error

The message reads - Registration was unsuccessful.  Check that you are connected to the Internet, then try again.   The printer is connected to the internet using a wireless connection.

had the same problem called support and this did the trick...on the top left corner of the printer screen you will see a image that looks like a peice of paper with target behind it, click that then click settings and make sure eprint is set to (ON) then try to register again and it should be a breeze. If this helps please post your results and I hope it works for you.

Hi there

I was getting the same issues.  What I noticed was thet even though eprint was ON, the efax registration said it was off and wanted to enable it.  Very odd and I wondered if this inconsistency was the root of the problem.  It appears it was!

So to get it working this is what I did...

1. (counter intuative) on printer, settings >webservices -> ePrint OFF  (yes turn it off)

2. back home

3. Start the efax registration process, it will say eprint is off and turn it on...

4. Registration works!

Brilliant !!!! you must get serious compensation from HP for this. I tried everything else (including the DNS setting) and this is what made it work. It is ridiculous that you have to twist your arm like this to get this crazy thing to work.
