using HP phtosmart 6510 & 5x7 photopaper -all attemps to fill paper fail, in fact photos take up maybe 30% of page max. I tried various setting, boarderless & with border. Correct size & location of paper has been entered. It is an excellent printer in other ways.![]()

Hello klapfaddle,
How are you trying to print, using ePrint, AirPrint, Home and Biz app, or standard printing form a computer?

If you have made sure that all the settings are correct to fill the page, have you checked the image size to make sure it will fill a 5 x 7 page? Honestly if everything is set right and the printer still will not print the pictures correctly, there may be a problem with the print drivers that were installed. Try unintalling the printers software. Then reinstalling it. If that does not help, let me know and I will see what else can be done.

How can I tell if an image will fill a 5x7 page? It is an old jpeg scan of an old photo.

Right click on the image and select properties. Then click on the tab that says details. The image size will display in pixels but you can use a converter to find the size in inches.

followed yourinstructions (on 2 computers) only infounder properties is General, i.e. filname, size, date created etc. NO details. Even tried in HP Image zone, Edit, size - only thing there are pixels & %, nothing about inches. This is the ase with alll of my images - many, many. So what can I do - to know print size before I go and waste more expensive paper??

Click on this link and it will take you to a place that will convert the pixels to inches for you.

Nice BUT is there a program I can install that will do this - it is a hassle to have to go to that web site everytime i need such info.
AND - critical - the converter shows my image to be 4x5" yet the prints are just 2x3".
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. It may be a corrupt driver that is causing the size to distort and the best way to fix it is to get rid of it and replace it with an updated version.
