"service unavailable at the moment, please try after some time"- I see this message when I touch the "apps" button on the pad on the printer-how can I get into the Apps?

The servers are currently being upgraded and more than likely that is preventing you from accessing your apps. When accessing your apps, it connects to the ePrint servers, so if they are upgrading the ePrint servers, you are more than likely going to have issues connecting to your apps. I would give it a while and try it again later. You may also want to try power cycling the printer before trying to access them again.
