HI.  I don't believe this printer is compatible with AirPrint (see latest list here).  You can use the HP iPrint mobile app from your ipad - you can learn more about it here.  Hope that helps!

I tried what you suggested and nothing ever downloaded. I followed your link and pressed the free button over and over and nothing ever happened. I have a Office Jet J4680 and just got an Ipad 2, I don't really want to buy all new equipment just so I can print.

No, that printer is not compatible with airprint. It looks like it also is not compatible with the eprint home and biz app that HP offers either. If you really want airprint pretty much any officejet or photosmart from the last year will support it other than the mobile officejets.
