I have an officejet pro 8100 n811a. My systems run Win 7. The printer is on the network and I am able to print to it. It is pulling an IP address through DHCP. It is not allowing me to install web services so I can set up eprint. After I accept the terms, it kicks back to a message of:
When I originally set it up, it allowed me to connect to web servies and run the update. Eprint appeared to install, but when I tried to print to it, it would show in the que, but error out and not come to the printer. I rebooted the printer and then it did not want to contact the server. I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and when I go to product update, it says that my product is up to date. But it still will not allow me to install web services. I am not on a proxy and there are no firewall settings blocking connection. It insatlled once, but it seems that after the product updates, it does not want to work. Ideas????

Hi makeitwork,
I would suggest reconnecting the printer to the network by running the Wireless setup wizard and try to launch web services again. If this does not help, you may need to change some DNS settings within the printers EWS (embedded web server) To do this, put the IP address into a browser window on your PC.
This should launch the EWS. Within the EWS, select the network tab. under the network tab, select "networking".
Then select "network address" (IP). Do not change the IP configuration at the top. Go to the bottom under "DNS Address configuration “and select "Manual DNS server”. Under manual DNS server, input 8.8.8.8 (one 8 in each box) on the first line, and 8.8.4.4 on the second line. Hit the "Apply" button at the bottom.
Now try to connect to Web Services again.
