Re: HP TouchPad will not charge

My problem was the micro usb on the cable. I had only used the travel charger for a few times and have been using the Touchstone to charge. I had not noticed the the micro usb was bent upwards until my wife told me one day. Thinking that I had bent it myself with my previous used, I straightened it only to find out that it would not charge anymore. I had to bent it again, kept trying until at 3 degrees angle. Hope this helps anyone else having the same issue.

Re: HP TouchPad will not charge

I just purchased a refirb 32gb from woot and got it today. I have yet to get it to power up. I've had it connected to the charger for at least 2 hours. I've tried holding down the power and the home button and all I can get it to do is show the home button flowing light. And that seems to only last for about 10 to 20 minutes. Any ideas?

Re: HP TouchPad will not charge

I also just received from Woot the 32GB unit, not charging, tried holding both buttons for up to two minutes several times, nothing happened. Any other solutions?

Thank you.

Re: HP TouchPad will not charge

Thank you so much for that information.I just got my HP touch and felt funny about it because when I was settinh it up it told me I was not eligible for the warrenty however it was a gift so I really did not want to return it. Next after one week of use it did not come on and I tried different cables because I own all HP products. By holding the power and center together turned on my HPtouchpad. I think this information should be added in the manuel so customer do not feel sick when their HP touchpad do not turm on after being plugged into the charger.

Re: HP TouchPad will not charge

Same problem here and its the usb micro cable!  My TP is less than a month and the cable died.

Tried the cable with my nokia phone and it wont charge. Replaced it with a cheap 2 USD cable and it works!

Re: HP TouchPad will not charge

Thank you so much for this tip / solution. It worked perfectly. Apparently, my problem on getting the Touchpad to boot besides being a dork was my impatience. Holding down the two buttons for approximately 15 seconds+ was the key. I was short changing the holding down time. Once again, thanks a pant load for the solution!

Re: HP TouchPad will not charge

I bought 2 from Woot in February.  So far one of them won't charge anymore.  I have tried swapping the AC charger and cable to no avil.

I will try to contact Woot to see if a replacement/repair/or refund is possible.
