HP TouchPad will not charge

Update:  After hitting the power + the home key for 15 seconds, it now boots.  Guess It was not broken after all.  

My 22 month old daughter is using it as a "child pad".  So far, it has taken all the abuse with strides.  Good thing that she looses interest after about 20 minutes.  Better this than my wife's iPhone.

My week old TouichPad will no longer turn on ... when connected to power or when not.

Would apptreciate help

I've had my hp tablet since Christmas and am making my final payments.  I don't use it often, but when I tried to turn it on all I got was the picture of a red plug.  Shortly afterwards, I couldn't even see the plug. I charged it all night and even connected it to my pc with no results.

I had that same problem..........the solution is that the charger is a crap. I used my phone charger it charged, but very slowly. I was afraid that it crashed, but the charger that came with it is a piece of garbage. So buy another charger and charge it. Ironic this happen to me on the same day as yours.

I HAVE HAD MY HP CHARGED FOR 24 HRS AS RECOMMENDED AND STILL NO CHARGE. WHEN I LOOK ON LINE FOR REPLACEMENT CHARGERS THERE AREN'T ANY HP TOUCHPADS ON THE HP.COM SITE. IS THIS BECAUSE WE BOUGHT A PRODUCT THAT YOU REALIZED WAS GARBAGE AND ARE NO LONGER SELLING.

I can send you a replacement charger.  I accidentally got HP to send a replacement for one that was actually working.
