Hi, I tried this solution and it did allow the touchpad to shut down.  However, now it won't come back on!  Is there some special way to bring it back up after having done this?

Hi, there's no relation to it not coming on because of the reset.  It could be that you need to do the reset again or charge the battery.

I did realize that you do not have to hold the volume button as part of the reboot.
