I am attempting to scan this crest which is basically a 2.5D object when I lay it flat. I need the back to be a flat surface.

The top shell scans fine but setting close holes to 100% results in the image with the giant wings. At 50% it seals

the holes on the top pretty good but the entire back remains open. I think the software needs better hole filling options

(as well as better calibration option for 2.5D type objects on the turntable). So far the advice I get on the internet is to import

it into a mesh editor but due to the OBJ size it has been a struggle to come up with a usable workflow. Is there a solution

within the HP software?

If you right click the scan there is a feature to reduce mesh density by a certain percentage. This will reduce the file size to something more manageable. Are you able to scan the sides and the back as well?

The back has a black velvet cover 😕 I had sprayed the front with Gold Bond Powder to get it scan. I guess I could try it on

the back.  I was hoping for a quicker software solution.
