Answer from developer team "If user has a projector with trigger out function and he can trigger the cams due to hardware connection, this function can be used."

I personally saw projectors with trigger for projection walls. I don´t know if that can be used for camera sync, but this looks interesting:

Very interesting. I have actually spoken to ImagingSource tech about syincing their cameras to the HDMI Signal and there are off the shelf solutions to do this. They arn't cheap though. Likewise the lightcrafter modules are ~$640 USD without the controler and no software. Am i misreading it?

Re: New advance setting: Hardware sync. What is this ?

Thanks for the answer.

I find the solution from the article from Mr. Tomislav PETKOVIĆ more interesting.

He is able to sync camera, projector and scan software without sync hardware.

If this could be implemented through Directshow, it would be the holy grail of high quality 3D scan using HP 3D while still using various hardware.

There are many different gen locks and price range is also wide. It would raise up the cost of scanner a lot.

Re: New advance setting: Hardware sync. What is this ?

This is a sync generator which would require the projector and video source to have a sync in too. I was referring to a generator that reads the HDMI signal from the graphics card and syncs everything else. Even more pricey. If I had even a hint of coding ability I'd love to try the TI Light engine, or refine what narmella is doing with image capture (which works extremely well but is cumbersome).

FWIW for those paying attention. This is why fully engineered systems cost so much more than a home projector/web cam set up even if they look like they are basically the same thing.

To sync the camera and projector you need a Quadro P5000 card $2000 and the Quadro SyncII $1200:
