Spike and errors in some scans

Hi.

I'm using HD 5.1 3d scanner with dual camera and convex calib board. currently I experiment some errors in some of my scans. sometimes a piece of scan jumps to a random space. and some times (more often) some spikes appear in scans.

Also edges of my scans are noisy and bended over, and this is a very big problem for me.

Re: Spike and errors in some scans

I am not sure what could be the cause in first case, but in second case it looks like there was some reflection during the scanning process.

Re: Spike and errors in some scans

[ Edited ]

Hi again. these days I searched for error source and found that if I scan with dual cameras and in Stereo Mode, flipped edges and spikes are appeared, but by scanning in Extend Mode all spikes and flipped edges are removed.

In Extend Mode I've experienced mesh distortion and I can't align scans well, but in Stereo Mode Mesh distortion is very low and scans can be aligned.

Removing these spikes and edgesmanually  is very hard and time consuming.

HP team must work hard on V5, it has major bugs and problems.

How does your mesh look like after fusion, are those spikes gone?

Re: Spike and errors in some scans

No, note all of them go.
in these pictures, spikes are not alote, but sometimes larg amount of spikes cover the main mesh scan.
