Product Name: David SLS-3
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I scanned an object with our SLS-3 3D Scanner, with "Auto-Grab Texture" on.

After I fused all my scans I can see the 3D version in the software perfectly. Also the surface structure of the object looks good. Then I exported the fused result as STL file for our 3D printer.

The problem ist that, when I open the file with Cura to prepare it for 3D printing the surface structure is lost. I only see the triangular modelling of the object. So the object looks smoothened, but I dont see any details.

So my question is: how can I export the file from the 3D scanning software so that also the surface structure is preserved?

Re: Texturing

I am not sure have you lost texture or geometry after export? .STL format does not contain texture, so you can export your scan in .OBJ format. In the latest software update fusion can be exported directly  to cura.

Shape Fusion  Menu > Fusion > Export

Cura export.PNG
