@lpq23, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding beep code!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The 2 beeps at startup, followed by continuous 2-beep sequences on an HP laptop usually indicate a memory (RAM) issue. Here’s what you can do to troubleshoot:

Power Cycle the Laptop

  1. Turn off the laptop and unplug the charger.
  2. Remove the battery (if it's removable).
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge residual power.
  4. Reinsert the battery and charger, then try turning it on.

Reseat the RAM

  1. Turn off the laptop and unplug it.
  2. Open the RAM compartment (usually at the back, secured with screws).
  3. Carefully remove the RAM sticks and reinsert them properly.
  4. If you have two RAM sticks, try using one at a time to identify a faulty module.

Clean the RAM and Slots

  1. Use a soft eraser or clean cloth to gently clean the golden contacts on the RAM sticks.
  2. Blow out any dust from the RAM slots.
  3. Reinsert the RAM and try booting again.

Try Different RAM Slots

  • If your laptop has two RAM slots, try switching the RAM to a different slot.

Test with a Different RAM Stick

  • If available, try using another compatible RAM stick to see if the issue is with your RAM.

Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold Windows + B while pressing the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
  3. Release the Power button but keep holding Windows + B until you hear a beep or see a recovery screen.

Let me know if you need more details! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
