The HP AI Companion will not launch on my Snapdragon X Omnibook 5 and instead displays the message “This app is not supported on this device”.  Any ideas?

Hi @m_sp

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I’m really sorry the HP AI Companion won’t launch on your Omnibook 5 with Snapdragon X—it’s frustrating when a feature you expect to use simply says it’s unsupported.

Let’s walk through what might be happening and how to check compatibility.

Why You’re Seeing “This App Is Not Supported on This Device”

  • Processor Architecture: The HP AI Companion may currently be optimized for x86-based systems. Your Omnibook 5 uses a Snapdragon X ARM-based processor, which can limit compatibility with certain desktop applications.
  • App Version: If the installed version of HP AI Companion isn’t built for ARM64, it won’t launch properly—even if the system meets other hardware requirements.
  • Windows Configuration: Some ARM systems run apps in emulation mode, but not all apps support this. HP AI Companion may require native ARM support which isn’t yet available.

What You Can Try

1. Check for ARM-Compatible Version

  • Visit the HP App Store page: HP AI Companion
  • Look for system requirements and supported architectures.
  • If ARM64 is not listed, the app may not yet support your device natively.

2. Try Installing via Microsoft Store

  • Open Microsoft Store on your Omnibook 5.
  • Search for HP AI Companion.
  • If it says “Not compatible,” that confirms the architecture mismatch.

3. Check for Updates via HP App

  • Open the HP App on your device.
  • Go to Tools > Software & Drivers > Check for Updates.
  • If a newer version of HP AI Companion is available, it may include ARM support.

Alternative Access

While the AI Companion may not run natively, you can still use the HP App for diagnostics, support tools, and device management. It’s fully compatible with Windows 11 on ARM and offers many of the same features.

Let me know if you’d like help checking your system architecture or exploring alternative tools. You’ve done everything right—and I’ll help you make the most of your Omnibook 5.
