Hi @CND4330x99,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP ENVY laptop is showing a blank screen with a flashing cursor, which usually indicates an issue with the boot process or boot device detection. Let’s go through steps to troubleshoot and resolve this.

1. Perform a Hard Reset

Turn off the laptop completely.

Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, external monitors).

Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain residual power.

Reconnect power and try turning the laptop on again.

2. Check Boot Order in BIOS

Turn on the laptop and immediately press ESC repeatedly, then F10 to enter BIOS Setup.

Ensure the hard drive/SSD is detected under System Information.

Check Boot Order / Boot Options and make sure the internal drive is first.

Save changes and exit BIOS.

3. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Turn off the laptop.

Turn it on and press ESC repeatedly → F2 for System Diagnostics.

Run Hard Drive Test and System Board Test.

Note any error codes and messages.

4. Repair Boot Files (if Windows is corrupted)

Create a Windows 11 installation USB using another computer.

Boot from the USB → select Repair your computer → Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Repair.

Follow on-screen instructions to repair boot issues.

5. Check for Loose or Damaged Drive

If comfortable opening the laptop:

Reseat the SSD/HDD.

Inspect for any visible damage or loose connections.

I hope this helps.
