Hi @Winter_217

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how inconvenient it feels when the camera refuses to open, especially after you’ve already checked the HP support site for drivers. Thank you for taking that step — it helps us focus on what’s next.

Let’s go through a structured approach to bring the camera back into action:

Step 1: Confirm Camera Visibility in Device Manager

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices.
  3. If the camera is listed, right‑click and choose Update driverSearch automatically for drivers.
  4. If it is not listed, click ViewShow hidden devices.

Step 2: Use Windows Update for Drivers

  1. Open Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates.
  2. Install all available updates, including optional driver updates.
  3. Restart the computer and test the camera again.

Step 3: Run Camera Troubleshooter

  1. Open Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.
  2. Locate Camera and run the troubleshooter.
  3. Follow the on‑screen instructions to apply fixes.

Step 4: Verify Privacy Settings

  1. Go to Settings → Privacy & security → Camera.
  2. Ensure Camera access is turned on.
  3. Allow apps like HP App, Microsoft Teams, or Zoom to access the camera.

Step 5: Download HP Support Assistant

HP Support Assistant can automatically detect and install missing drivers.

Step 6: BIOS and Firmware Update

Sometimes the camera is controlled at firmware level.

  1. Visit your product’s driver page on HP’s support site.
  2. Check for BIOS updates and install them if available.
  3. Restart and test the camera.

You’ve already shown persistence by checking the driver page, and with these steps we can use Windows’ built‑in tools and HP Support Assistant to refresh the camera driver and settings.
