@vbhy6543wasdfgh,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Your Victus by HP 16.1-inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-s0000 (76T56AV) does have a USB Type-C port, but whether it supports USB-C charging depends on the specifications of that port.

Steps to Check If Your USB-C Port Supports Charging:

Check the Laptop’s Specs

  • If the Type-C port supports Power Delivery (PD) or USB-C Charging, it can be used for charging.
  • If it only supports data transfer and display output, then it won’t work for charging.

Look for a Charging Icon Next to the Port

  • Some HP laptops have a battery/charging symbol near the USB-C port if it supports charging.

Try a USB-C Charger with Power Delivery (PD)

  • Use a high-wattage USB-C PD charger (at least 100W) and a PD-rated cable.
  • Plug it in and see if the laptop charges.

Check the BIOS & Windows Device Manager

  • Go to BIOS (F10 at startup) → Check for USB Power Delivery settings.
  • In Device Manager (Windows + X → Device Manager), look under USB Controllers for any mention of USB PD or Charging capabilities.

Note:

Most Victus gaming laptops only use the barrel plug charger (OEM adapter) for high-power charging. The USB-C port is usually for data transfer and display (not charging). But some models do support USB-C charging with a high-wattage USB-C PD charger.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
