Hi @NinaBaNina1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that  your HP laptop (LP) is not detecting your monitor,  I would request you to please follow the below steps to resolve the issue.

Select the Correct Input Source:

  • Ensure that the monitor is set to the correct input source. You can usually verify or change this setting using the monitor's on-screen display menu.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your monitor and laptop. Unplug them from the power source for at least 30 seconds, then reconnect and power them back on.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupt graphics drivers can lead to display detection issues. Update your graphics drivers through the HP website or the Device Manager in Windows.
  • Go to Device Manager > Display adapters, right-click on your graphics adapter, and select Update driver.

Check Display Settings:

  • On your laptop, right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Scroll down to Multiple displays and select Detect to see if your monitor appears.
  • Ensure that Extend these displays or Duplicate these displays is selected if you are using dual monitors.

Try a Different Port:

  • If possible, try connecting your monitor to a different port on your laptop.

Check for BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI setup to ensure that the external display is enabled. T
  • his is usually accessible by pressing a key (like F10, F12, Delete) during the startup process.

Take care and have an amazing day!
