Within the past literally couple of days, my laptop appears to connect to Wifi despite having the Ethernet cable attached. I alternate frequently (daily) between the two and it's worked perfectly well until now.

I thought perhaps I may have needed to update the driver, but after doing an HP diagnostics check on here, I'm told "Detection was successful but you don't need any new software or drivers at this time."

In addition to this. I thought it likely I would need to check and update all drivers since Norton360 has also very recently started telling me I have a list of outdated drivers. But obviously wants to try and charge me for additional software to do this for me.

Can someone please advise, specifically on the Ethernet/Wifi, but if you have any ideas on the drivers that would also be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Oh. I should mention that since the Ethernet doesn't seem to show as connected over the past few days (only Wifi), I'm having to manually turn off Wifi so that Ethernet shows it's being used. Not ideal. Since, I then need to remember to manually turn the Wifi back on again when I'm away from my desk. Ugh.

Thanks in advance.

I do not see an option to delete the original post. Sorry.

I somehow managed to find the 'online chat' and after a few attempts at troubleshooting, I reset the network adaptor which seems to have fixed the issue! Hooray! Thank you HP.

As for the drivers. I trust HP diagnostics to be correct and have no additional issues which would make me think any drivers are outdated.

Sorry I wasn't able to find the online chat sooner. You may now ignore/delete this.
