Okay, so every single time I turn on my computer It's a kind of old one and every single time I turned it on it will go into a black screen and then it goes into a Black background with the HP logo and it will go into a dimly lit. Background and it's black and the

n it will flash me either a White  or a blue  . And then it turns back off and completes the same. Process over again and I don't know how to fix it.

Hi @AtillaGameZ

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I'm really sorry your laptop keeps looping through the HP logo and black screen—it’s exhausting when it never reaches the desktop and just flashes and restarts.

Let’s walk through a few steps to help break the cycle and bring your system back to life.

Try these steps to resolve the boot loop:

1. Perform a hard reset

This clears residual charge and resets the embedded controller.

  • Power off the laptop
  • Disconnect the charger
  • If the battery is removable, take it out
  • Press and hold the power button for 60 seconds
  • Reconnect the charger (without battery if removable)
  • Power on and observe the startup behavior

2. Access Startup Menu

This helps isolate whether the issue is with Windows or hardware.

  • Power on the laptop and immediately press Esc repeatedly
  • If the Startup Menu appears, press F2 for System Diagnostics
  • Run a Quick Test on memory and hard drive
  • If both pass, press F11 to access recovery options

If F11 opens recovery, you can try Startup Repair or System Restore.

3. Boot into Safe Mode

This bypasses drivers and startup apps that may be causing the loop.

  • Power on and interrupt the boot three times (force shut down during HP logo)
  • On the fourth boot, Windows should enter Recovery Mode
  • Select Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart
  • Press F4 to boot into Safe Mode
  • If successful, uninstall any recent updates or drivers

4. Create a Windows recovery USB

If the system won’t reach recovery mode:

  • On another Windows PC, download the Windows Media Creation Tool
  • Create a bootable USB
  • Insert it into your laptop and power on
  • Press Esc > F9 to select boot device
  • Choose the USB and run Startup Repair

Let me know if you reach the Startup Menu or Recovery Mode. Once we confirm whether the issue is hardware or software, we can guide the next steps to restore full functionality.
