I have a HP laptop 15-fd1072TU which cannot operate with Canon DPP4 software Neural network Image Processing Tool.  It appears my GPU is inadequate.     Is there anything I can do to upgrade the performance?  I do not have Thunderbolt on this laptop.

Hi @Graeme3109,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

The HP Laptop 15-fd1072TU, based on its configuration, might not have the advanced GPU capabilities required for intensive tasks such as Canon's Digital Photo Professional 4 (DPP4) Neural Network Image Processing Tool. Here are some steps you can consider to potentially enhance performance:

Upgrade Options:

Check Graphics Driver:

  • Ensure that you have the latest graphics driver installed. Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your specific laptop model.

External GPU (eGPU) Options:

  • Although your laptop lacks a Thunderbolt port, which is typically used for connecting eGPUs, you can explore USB 3.0 to eGPU adapters. These are less efficient than Thunderbolt connections but can still offer a performance boost. Compatibility varies, so check the adapter details carefully.

Optimizing Software Settings:

  • Within the Canon DPP4 software, adjust settings to lower performance demands, if possible. This might involve reducing the quality of previews or using batch processing for high-load tasks.

Hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
