Welcome to the HP English Community --

Product / Printer Model:  ?

Operating System:  ?

Software / Application:  ?

Connection Type:  ?

Content / File Type:  ?

Job type:  HP Smart application

By now, you might have tried all of the following.

The basics --

  • Switch OFF any VPN on your network
  • Make sure both printer and the device where you are running HP Smart are on the same network
  • Recheck Windows Updates > Restart computer if any updates are installed / pending.
  • Restart printer, computer, and router

If not tried -- and particularly when the printer still works with other apps and software --

Consider / Try

  • Check that wherever HP Smart is installed, the latest version of the application is installed for that platform (computer, tablet, phone)
  • Test - If no joy >> Reset the HP Smart application (in your Windows computer)
  • After the Reset of the app - be sure to restart your computer.
  • If the reset does not work by itself - add >> Uninstall / Reinstall the application
  • After the Uninstall of the app - be sure to restart your computer
  • Install a new copy of the application
  • Open HP Smart -
  • Sign into the app using your HP Account credentials
  • Add Printer(s)

Reminder

It is important that every device is using the latest version of the HP Smart app for that device type.

Check / Update >> Every device (computer(s) and mobile) where HP Smart is installed should be running the latest version of the HP Smart application available for that device platform (Operating System / Version).

AND

The printer and device (computer, tablet, phone) where HP Smart is running should be on the same network.

That might be enough…

Stop if everything is now working.

Next,

Restart Everything, including the router that controls your network
