@Purplebeery, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing. Here are some general steps you can take to try and remove a virus from your HP computer and regain access:

Attempt Safe Mode

  1. Restart the Computer: Turn off your computer and then turn it back on.
  2. Enter Safe Mode: As soon as the computer starts, press the F8 key repeatedly until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu. Use the arrow keys to select "Safe Mode" and press Enter.

Run Antivirus Software

  1. Install Antivirus Software: If you have antivirus software installed, update it to the latest version. If not, you can try downloading antivirus software from another device and installing it in Safe Mode.
  2. Perform a Full Scan: Run a full scan of your computer to detect and remove any viruses. Follow the software's instructions to remove any detected threats.

Use Windows Defender Offline

  • Windows Defender Offline is a powerful tool that can detect and remove viruses that may not get detected by standard antivirus programs. You might need to create a bootable USB or CD from another computer.

Restore System

  • System Restore: Boot into Safe Mode and try performing a system restore to a point before the computer was infected. This can be accessed through "Control Panel" > "System and Security" > "System" > "System Protection" and clicking "System Restore".

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
