Hi @HDStone,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP 15-fc0000 laptop and your new computer are not connecting to your older printer (from 2018), and the software shows an expired warranty message. Let’s go through steps to get your printer working.

1. Ignore Warranty Warning for Functionality

HP warranty expiration messages do not prevent printing.

You can still install drivers and use the printer; the message is informational only.

2. Install Latest Drivers

Go to HP Support – Printer Drivers.

Enter your printer model and download the latest full-feature driver/software compatible with your current OS.

Install the driver on both your laptop and desktop.

3. Connect Printer to Network or Computer

USB Connection: Connect directly via USB cable; follow driver prompts.

Wireless Connection:

Power on the printer → go to Network / Wireless Setup.

Connect it to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptops.

Use HP Smart or the driver software to add the printer to your devices.

4. Use HP Smart App

Download HP Smart from HP Smart.

Add your printer via the app—it usually works even if warranty is expired.

The app allows printing, scanning, and status checks.

5. Test Printing

Open a document or image and select your printer.

Ignore any expired warranty prompts—they will not stop printing.

6. Optional: Update Printer Firmware

Go to HP Support → Firmware Updates for your printer.

Updating firmware can improve compatibility with new computers and OS versions.

Tip: Expired warranty messages are not errors. They are informational and do not block printing or scanning.

I hope this helps.
