@Toby2221, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you've recently canceled your Instant Ink subscription but still receive a "cannot print until enrolled in Instant Ink" message even after installing new cartridges, here's how you can resolve this issue:

Ensure Use of Original HP Cartridges:

  • Make sure the cartridges you installed are genuine HP cartridges and not leftover Instant Ink cartridges. Instant Ink cartridges are programmed to work only in enrolled printers.

Check Printer Enrollment Status:

  • Go to your HP account or HP Smart app to verify that the printer is no longer showing as enrolled in Instant Ink.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.

Remove and Reinsert the Cartridges:

  • Open the cartridge access area, remove the cartridges, and then reinsert them to ensure they are properly seated.

Verify Internet Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet, as some printer models require a connection for updates and enrollment status checks.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check for any available firmware updates that might fix compatibility issues. Visit the HP Support site to download any updates.
