What I would like to know is how WalMart can sell HP laptops that the warrany is already expired. Not to mention I bought the extended warranty. I just don't see how they can do this

They can't see out of warrenty product. That's technical issue from HP site. Directly contact ho agent using below link via online chat or call and they will correct it after checking invoice.
