I have a HP CL17 byxxxl computer that is only about three months old.  It has the AMD Ryzen Processor inside of it, with the 32 GB of RAM.  It has been performing just about flawlessly until the recent AMD BIOS update.  Now, it will not mirror the laptop's screen to my 52 inch Toshiba FireTV.  I have tried all of the tests available through HP, and everything tests out perfectly.  Does AMD have any tests for the processor and BIOS that anyone knows of?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I know that the AI component probably has a lot to do with everything.  I am no newbie to computing.  I have probably computed for about 30 of my 60 years of age.  AI seems to want to take over everything, but I am not going to let it go rogue like in the "Terminator" movie series if I can be part of the solution to help protect humanity from it.

Hi @Jackaroo26,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your laptop. If your HP laptop is experiencing problems mirroring the screen to a TV after a BIOS update, it could potentially be related to the changes made during the update or to compatibility issues introduced with the new BIOS version.

Here are several steps you might consider to address the issue:

Check BIOS Settings: Ensure that any settings related to display output or hardware acceleration within the BIOS are correctly configured. Sometimes, a BIOS update can reset settings to defaults.

Update Drivers: Ensure that both your graphics and network drivers are up to date. HP provides a platform for obtaining the latest drivers for your specific model, which can sometimes resolve compatibility issues after system updates.

Revert BIOS: If the issue started immediately after a BIOS update, consider reverting to the previous BIOS version. Check Official HP® Support for instructions on how to perform a BIOS rollback safely.

Display Settings in Windows: Go to your display settings (right-click on the desktop > Display settings) and ensure that the correct screen mirroring or extend options are selected.

Refresh Connections: Sometimes, refreshing your wireless connections on both your laptop and TV can resolve connectivity issues. Additionally, ensure both devices are on the same network, especially if you're using Wireless Display.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
