Hi @Jude90 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer is showing a flashing error light with an "E," it indicates an issue that needs attention. Since this occurred after installing new toner cartridges, it might be related to their installation. Here are steps you can take to resolve the issue:

  1. Check Cartridge Installation:

    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Open the printer's ink cartridge access door and remove the cartridges.
    • Reinsert them carefully, ensuring they are seated correctly in their respective slots. Match the color and marking on the cartridge to the color and slot of the printer. Close the cartridge access door securely.
  2. Check for Protective Tape:

    • Make sure you have removed any protective tape from the electrical contacts of the new cartridges. Avoid touching the contacts to ensure a proper connection.
  3. Restart the Printer:

    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
    • Verify if the error light persists.
  4. Check for Additional Errors:

    • Look at the printer’s display or control panel for any additional error messages or codes that can provide more details on the issue.
  5. Print a Test Page:

    • Go to your computer and try printing a test page to check if the printer will respond.
  6. Check for Jammed Paper:

    • Ensure there is no paper jam inside the printer. Remove any jammed papers carefully if found.
  7. Reset the Printer:

    • Perform a hard reset by turning off the printer, unplugging the power cord, waiting for about 60 seconds, and then reconnecting and turning it back on.
  8. Firmware Update:

Hope this helps resolve you issue.
