I’m sorry you’re dealing with this—it sounds like a boot failure or hardware issue, especially with the Caps Lock blinking.
Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the laptop.
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
- Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try booting again.
2. Identify the Blink Code
- HP laptops use Caps Lock blinking patterns to indicate hardware failures.
- Count the number of blinks and check HP’s blink code guide here.
3. Try BIOS Recovery
- Press Win + B or Fn + B while powering on the laptop.
- If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the instructions.
4. Reseat RAM & Storage
- If comfortable, remove and reinsert the RAM and SSD/HDD.
- Loose connections can cause boot failures.
5. Connect to an External Display
- Plug in an external monitor via HDMI or VGA.
- If the display works, the issue might be with the laptop’s screen.
