I am facing this issue of automatic shutting down of my Hp Pavillion Gaming laptop. I have no idea what problem is going with it. How can I fix it. this problem is very irritating. At first, I thought that it's just some normal issue, but it happened 4-5 times in every 5-10 minutes.

Hi @Priyanshu_07,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

As I understand the device is shuts down unexpectedly,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Have you attempted to capture any error message that appear before or after the device restarts?

Did you try updating the BIOS to resolve the issue? (If not, please Click here to find and install it)

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

If Windows suddenly restarts without warning, or restarts when you try to shut it down, it might be caused by one of several issues.

Windows could be set to restart automatically when certain system errors occur. A BIOS update can also resolve the issue.

Use the information in this document to resolve issues with the computer restarting unexpectedly.

If the computer restarts unexpectedly and then does not start to Windows, see one of the following documents for steps to resolve this issue:

HP Guided Solution - No Power or No Boot Troubleshooting for notebook or desktop computers.

In addition to the steps in this article, updating video card drivers is known to resolve many of the problems that can cause the computer to restart.

Windows restarts for no apparent reason

Follow the steps in this section, in order, until the problem is resolved.

Step 1: Disabling the automatic restart option to view error messages

Many hardware driver or operating system errors will cause the computer to display a specific error message before stopping the operation or shutting down the computer. However, if the Automatically restart option is enabled, an error message might not be displayed despite an error taking place. Disable this option to allow the computer to display the error message.

Follow these steps to disable the Automatically restart option:

In Windows, search for and open View advanced system settings.

Click Settings in the Startup and Recovery section.

Figure : System Properties window

  1. System Properties window

Remove the check mark next to Automatically restart under System Failure, then click OK.

Figure : Automatically restart check box

  1. Location of the Automatically restart check box

Restart the computer.

   NOTE:

The computer no longer restarts automatically when a problem occurs. Instead, a blue screen appears with more useful information. You can now search for a resolution using the information in the error.

Step 2: Checking for failed hardware

Hardware problems can cause the computer to restart unexpectedly.

For more information about checking for hardware problems, for desktop computers, or Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 10,  for notebook computers.

Thanks for replying sir.

It was not restarting, It was just shut down without any shutting down animation (example: I am watching a Youtube video, and then screen off and power button also off, no animation of shutting down on screen).

Today I performed all activities that are told by you (also attaching images of results),

First I preformed BIOS Update.

Then turned off the Auto restart option.

I run Operating System Diagnos test.

I run System extensive test to check any hardware issues. (results attached)

all operations were performed well & since past 4 hrs, But I faced that problem while writing this reply. It turned off 2 times (issue not fixed). Since past 4 hrs I was happy because it was running normally. 😭

Hi @Priyanshu_07

Thanks for troubleshooting I appreciate all your efforts.

In this regard, let us update the display or graphics card driver as the next step to resolve the issue.

Click on the link below and download the drivers. Recheck the operating system and make changes if necessary.

If the issue persists, then we have to reload Windows from scratch.

First, we need to download the Windows image onto a 32GB or 64GB USB flash drive (Flash drive only, memory cards, USB hard drives are not supported, It has to be 32GB or 64B only)

You can download the Windows image thru 'HP Cloud Recovery App' which can be downloaded from the Windows store.

Refer to the Step:2 on the link below:

And follow Step:4 to reload the Windows from the newly created USB recovery media.

sir, before your this reply, laptop was in serious problem. It stopped turning on so i take it to hp service center. they opened the laptop and cleaned the fans and changed coolent stuff (basic servicing of laptop). after this they kept laptop for 2 days for observation and then the problm was solved. they call me and asked to take it back. When I came home, I was happy because it was running smoothly but after using for 5hrs it turned off like before. i become in problm again. I tried to turn on it and after turning on, it turned off from home screen window. I thought to take it back to service center again today. But since morning it is working well but now it turned off again 2-3 times. I am to much worried about it. How big is the issue or how much time it will take to fix. Now should i take it to service center again or what to do???
