@Letty_Addie, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop showing an error message!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP laptop 15-dw3xxx is showing a cooling fan error message, you can take the following steps to resolve the issue:

Clear the Error Message:

  • Press Enter to clear the message and allow the system to start to the Windows desktop.

Inspect and Clean the Vents:

  • Turn off the computer and inspect the exterior vents. Dust can accumulate inside the vents and around internal cooling components, preventing the removal of heat.
  • Use compressed air to blow dust out of the vent openings.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • A hard reset can reset recorded thermal values in the memory and enable you to use the computer for a short time to access and save important files before seeking further service. You can find detailed instructions for performing a hard reset here.

Update BIOS:

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
