@Roger3nations, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it must be to face issues with Microsoft Office on your new HP laptop, especially when it came with a lifetime license. Let’s work together to get this resolved.
Check Office Activation Status
- Open Word or Excel.
- Go to File > Account.
- Look under Product Information:
- If it says Product Activated, you're good.
- If it says Activation Required or Unlicensed Product, proceed to the next step.
Sign in with the Correct Microsoft Account
Make sure you're signed in with the Microsoft account that was used to activate Office:
- In Word/Excel, go to File > Account > Sign In.
- Use the email you registered Office with (often the one used during initial setup).
Repair Office Installation
Sometimes, repairing Office can fix post-update issues:
- Press Windows + S, type Apps & Features, and open it.
- Find Microsoft Office in the list.
- Click it, then select Modify > Quick Repair.
- If that doesn’t work, try Online Repair.
Reinstall Office (if needed)
If Office still doesn’t work:
- Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account.
- Under Office, click Install Office to reinstall it.
Additional Notes:
- If your device came with a lifetime Office license, it’s usually tied to the first Microsoft account used during setup. Make sure you're using that same account.
- If you’re unsure which account was used, check your email for any confirmation from Microsoft or HP.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
