Microsoft Windows 11

Hi could anyone help please. I have recently updated my laptop to Windows 11 Version 24H2 and my audio now won't work. I have had support from Microsoft who have said I need to update my audio driver but nothing seems to be working!  It used to be RealTek driver but now that has completely disappeared from the list in my driver manager. I don't know what else to do now and now I have no sound on my laptop.

Any help appreciated thanks

Find out the hardware ID and check if there is an update in the Microsoft Update Catalog:

  1. Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller > expand "System devices" in 'Device Manager'
  2. Realtek(R) Audio > expand "Sound, video, and game controllers" in 'Device Manager'

Just type the hardware ID in the Microsoft Update Catalog search box.

Especially Intel SST, tell me the hardware ID.
You can also use a third-party software called Driver Easy Pro.
