Hi @Markmcg111 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I’m sorry to hear that your HP Z2 Tower G9 Workstation is overheating. However, I am unable to arrange for a technician to call out directly. Instead, I recommend taking the following steps:

  1. Check Ventilation:

    • Ensure that the workstation is placed in a well-ventilated area, and that there are no obstructions around the air vents.
    • Check for dust buildup around the vents and clean them if necessary using compressed air.
  2. Check Cooling System:

    • Verify that all fans within the PC casing are operational and running smoothly.
    • Ensure that the CPU cooler and any additional cooling mechanisms are functioning properly.
  3. Run Diagnostics:

    • Utilize HP's built-in diagnostics software such as HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to identify any failing components or configurations causing the issue.
  4. Update Drivers and BIOS:

Please , do let me know if you need any other assistance, will be happy to assist you

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask any other queries as well.

I am an HP Employee. Although i am speaking for myself and not for HP.
