Hi @Loewenthal

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your printer, particularly with color printing and the print queue. Let's work through a few steps to troubleshoot:

1. Clear the Print Queue

  • Windows:
    • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.
    • Go to the "Services" tab and find "Print Spooler".
    • Right-click on it and select "Restart".
  • Alternatively, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, find your printer, right-click, and select See what's printing. From there, you can cancel any stuck print jobs.

2. Check Printer Status

  • Make sure the printer is connected properly (via USB or Wi-Fi).
  • Check the printer's display screen for any errors or warnings.
  • Ensure there is paper in the tray, and no paper jams or low ink issues.

3. Color Printing Issues

  • Check Ink Levels: Make sure the color ink cartridges are not empty or dried out. Replace or refill them if needed.
  • Print Head Cleaning: Some printers have an option in the settings to clean the print head. This can often solve color printing issues.
  • Printer Settings: Make sure the printer settings are not set to print in black and white or grayscale.

4. Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Go to your printer  HP website, download the latest drivers for your printer model, and reinstall them.

5. Try Printing a Test Page

  • Go to the printer properties (from Devices and Printers), and select the option to print a test page.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
