I want to remove my old laptop from my account, but I am not seeing that option anywhere. How do I delete an old product I no longer own?

Hi @trill4ni,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

To be able to answer you effectively, we need some information.

Could you elaborate more?

May I have the exact name and product number of the unit? Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

HP Notebook 14-dq1088wm

Please remove that from my profile, as it no longer is attached to me and has not been for years now.

Hi @trill4ni,

Thank you for your response,

To remove your old laptop from your HP account, follow these steps.

  • Log into HP Support Assistant: Go to the HP Support Assistant website and log in using your HP account credentials.
  • Go to My Devices: Once logged in, navigate to the My Devices section. This is where all your registered devices will be listed.
  • Locate the Device: Find the laptop you want to remove from the list of devices.
  • Remove the Device: There should be an option to either Remove or Delete the device from your account. If you don’t see an option right away, you may need to click on the device to open its details, and you should find a "remove" or "delete" option there.

Alternatively, you can also remove the device from your HP account by logging into your account on the HP website:

  • Log into HP account: Go to HP.com and log in with your account.
  • Account Settings: Navigate to Account Settings and look for a Device Management or My Devices section.
  • Remove the Device: Once there, you can remove the device by selecting the option to delete it.

If you can't find these options or are encountering any issues, feel free to let me know!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Did they resolve your issue? I'm having the same problem. The steps listed above by @raj_05 are unhelpful.

When I go to the Support Home and select Software and Drivers, there are devices listed which I no longer own. How do I remove them?

When I select Manage My HP Account then select Devices, nothing is listed.
