HP Omen 30L
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Omen 30L desktop, product number 9EE29AA#ABA, with an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor,  It has the original 16GB (2x8) Ram.  I have run into some slow processing in Davinci Resolve video editing.  I am thinking of replacing the Ram to 32GB (2x16).  In the memory upgrade information I find that the motherboard supports two sockets of up to 32GB (2x16) DDR4, PC4-25600 (DDR4-3200).  The originals are HyperX 16GB (2x8) DDR4-3200 XMPRGB SDRAM.

I know it's probably better to stick with the same brand, but as I look around on the internet I don't see any HyperX 16GB Ram.  I don't see any upgrades available on the HP website.

I did find Corsair Vengeance model CMH32GX4M2E3200C16, that seems to have good comments.  And it lists as compatible with AMD 300 series.

As I look at Ram, I see different voltages specified - 1.2 and 1.35.

Am I okay getting the Corsair or is there something else?

@JohnJ49,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

DO NOT buy Corsair RAM for your OMEN 30L Desktop - GT13-0024 (9EE29AA) as fitted with the Moria3 motherboard (SSID: 87C3), or you'll experience what this HP OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0xxx User did: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/67891899, where you'll notice that the Corsair RAM got stuck at its default ("SPD") 2133 MHz RAM speed. And there is nothing you can do about it because you don't have XMP access.

I would 'stick' with a standard 2x16GB RAM kit such as:

2x16GB Crucial Pro CP16G4DFRA32A
2x16GB Timetec 78AP16NUSL1R8

Which will run at 3200 MHz and perform very well.

Kind Regards,
