Dear All

I bought a Omen 16L in Switzerland and would like to mount a 2TB Sata SSD Harddisk inside the Desktop.

Is this possible. Any hidden Sata cable below the mainboard or not?

Thanks for help

M.

@MThHäg, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Installing a SATA SSD in OMEN 16L!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The OMEN 16L Gaming Desktop PC supports various storage configurations, mainly focusing on PCIe NVMe SSD options for their superior performance.

The desktop doesn't explicitly mention support for additional SATA drives, as the specifications are geared towards PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD configurations.

However, here are the steps and considerations if you plan on installing a SATA SSD:

Check for an Available SATA Port: Inspect the interior of your OMEN 16L to see if there's an available SATA port on the motherboard. Some models might support SATA drives, even if not typically used. The available documentation seems to focus on M.2 SSDs, hence you might have to rely on a physical check.

Locate SATA Power and Data Cables: If SATA ports are available, check for any pre-installed cables or the option to add them. If there are no visible cables, it would be advisable to consult your product's manual or contact HP support for specific guidance related to your model.

Compatibility Considerations: Ensure the SSD aligns with the physical space and connection requirements inside the desktop; some models might have specific storage brackets or limitations.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
