I have an HP monitor with product number 1d0j9aa. It is set to run with VGA.  Is that OK, or is HDMI better? If HDMI is better, how do I switch to it?

@fressenius,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Using HDMI instead of VGA is generally better for several reasons:

  • Better Image Quality: HDMI provides a sharper image and better color reproduction compared to VGA, which is an analog connection.
  • Audio Support: HDMI carries both video and audio signals, while VGA only transmits video (requiring a separate audio cable).
  • Higher Resolutions: HDMI supports higher resolutions and refresh rates compared to VGA, ensuring better performance.

How to Switch from VGA to HDMI:

  1. Check Your PC's Ports: Ensure your computer has an HDMI output. If not, you may need an adapter (e.g., VGA-to-HDMI or VGA-to-DP (DisplayPort).
  2. Get an HDMI Cable: Use a standard HDMI cable to connect the HDMI port on your PC to the HDMI input on the HP 24mh monitor.
  3. Switch the Input Source on the Monitor:
    • Press the "Menu" button on the monitor.
    • Navigate to the "Input Source" option using the monitor’s buttons.
    • Select HDMI and confirm the selection.
  4. Adjust Display Settings in Windows (If Needed):
    • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings".
    • Under "Display", ensure the correct resolution (1920x1080) is set.

Your monitor should now use HDMI for a better viewing experience. Let me know if you need further assistance!
