Welcome to the HP Community --

When there is not a Biometric devices section in the Device Manager,

it means there is no detectable fingerprint hardware installed in the computer.

This is common, in fact.

The fingerprint reader is perhaps an Optional feature on your model

If the fingerprint reader is an option for your system,  the fingerprint reader can usually be added -- that is, purchased and installed.

The part number and installation instructions will be included in your computer's Maintenance and Service Guide.

General Example - Device Manager - Fingerprint reader / IR Camera

What next?

Open

 HP Product Home

Enter the device type and model name of your HP product

Open Category "Setup & User Guides"

Find and open the Maintenance & Service guide for your system.

 Search the document for "fingerprint"
