My envy x360 15-bp 165cl will no longer allow me to log on with face recognition. It started several weeks ago, I'm assuming after an update of some kind. The camera is working fine in all of my trouble shooting efforts. Windows tells me I need to turn it on, but it is on! I have had several trusted friends try to trouble shoot and have gotten nowhere. It is only a minor inconvenience to have to type in my PIN but I really would like to have it working.
Appreciate any helpful idea.
Thank you.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your HP Envy x360's Windows Hello Face Recognition feature is not recognizing your camera, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Check Camera Settings:
- Open the Start menu and go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
- Ensure that the camera access for the device is turned on and that apps are allowed to access your camera.
Update Camera Driver:
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting it from the list.
- Expand the Imaging devices section.
- Right-click your camera device and choose Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
Roll Back to Previous Camera Driver:
- If the issue started after a recent update, consider rolling back the driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click your camera device, go to Properties, select the Driver tab, and click Roll Back Driver if the option is available.
Reinstall Camera Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click the camera device and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the camera driver.
Reconfigure Windows Hello:
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
- Remove the existing facial recognition configuration.
- Set up the facial recognition again.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Make sure your system is up-to-date with the latest Windows updates, as they may contain fixes for known issues.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on Check for updates.
Check Biometrics Driver:
- In Device Manager, expand the Biometric devices section.
- Ensure the biometric device drivers are updated.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
