@CptDreadRoberts, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding CAB Archive Corruption During Norton Startup Virus Scan!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The error "42127 CAB archive corrupted" encountered during a Norton startup virus scan refers to an issue where a .CAB (cabinet) file, specifically hpSupportSolutionsFramework.exe, has been detected as corrupted. A .CAB file is a Windows-compressed file that typically includes installation files, and when corrupted, it cannot be accessed or utilized as intended.

What to Do:

Check with Norton:

  • You may need to check if Norton resolved the issue or quarantined the file. Open the Norton Internet Security application, navigate to the security history, and review the actions taken during the scan.

Re-download the File:

  • If the specific file (hpSupportSolutionsFramework.exe) is essential for HP support services on your computer, you might want to re-download the latest version of the HP Support Solutions Framework from the HP support website. This will ensure you have an uncorrupted version.
    • Go to the HP Support website.
    • Look for the HP Support Solutions Framework or directly search for the required utility and download it.

Re-run the Scan:

  • After replacing the corrupted file, re-run a full system scan with Norton Internet Security to ensure your system is clean and no other files are affected.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
