Hi @ASHWIN_saran

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I’m really sorry your spacebar isn’t working properly after removing it. That kind of issue can be incredibly frustrating—especially when every keystroke matters. Let’s try to bring that key back to life with a few careful steps.

How to fix a spacebar that needs extra pressure after removal

  1. Power off your laptop and unplug it to avoid any accidental input.
  2. Inspect the key mechanism:
    • Look closely at the spacebar area. You should see a small rubber dome or plunger in the center and possibly stabilizer clips or bars on the sides.
    • If the rubber dome is misaligned or damaged, the key won’t respond properly.
  3. Check the stabilizer bar (if present):
    • Some spacebars have a metal bar underneath that helps distribute pressure. Make sure it’s seated correctly in its slots.
  4. Clean the area gently:
    • Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove any dust or debris that might be interfering with the key’s movement.
  5. Reattach the spacebar keycap:
    • Align the keycap over the mechanism and press down firmly but gently until you hear a soft click.
    • Test the key by pressing it several times to check for responsiveness.

If the key still feels stiff or unresponsive, you can refer to HP’s official keyboard troubleshooting guide:

This guide includes visuals and detailed steps for key repair and keyboard diagnostics.

Let me know if the key still doesn’t respond after trying these steps. I’ll be here to help you further.
