@manoj152,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Under HP's standard warranty in India, free repairs are only for manufacturing defects. If the charging port broke because of an accident (for example, a drop or physical force), that is usually not covered for free under the standard HP warranty.

However, if you had purchased Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) before the damage occurred, that may cover physical damage. Otherwise, HP will inspect the laptop and then give a quote for the repair.

OK, here is what you should/can do:

  1. Contact HP Authorized Service Center or HP Support India:

    • Raise a warranty claim and get the laptop inspected.

    • The technician will determine if the damage is accidental or a defect.

  2. If It is Determined to Be Defect-Related:

    • HP will replace or repair it free (no charge).

  3. If It is Determined to Be Accidental Damage:

    • If you have the Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) care pack active → it may be free under that plan.

    • If you do not have ADP → HP will charge a fee for parts and labor.

  4. Before Going In, you can check your warranty status online via the HP India warranty check page by serial number.

  5. If HP is not going to fix your issue for free, best you can do is to get repair quotes from laptop repair/service shops and pay out of pocket.

Kind Regards,
