@dhruva04, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

Based on the image and your description "brightness automatically increases" this issue is likely caused by adaptive brightness or auto brightness settings on your HP laptop. Here's how to resolve it:

Method 1: Using Windows Settings

  1. Open Settings → Press Windows + I
  2. Go to SystemDisplay
  3. Scroll down and click Brightness & color
  4. Uncheck the box that says:
    • “Change brightness automatically when lighting changes”
    • Or “Help improve battery by optimizing content brightness” (on some models)

Method 2: Using Intel Graphics Command Center (if applicable)

  1. Open Intel Graphics Command Center from Start Menu
  2. Go to DisplayColor
  3. Look for “Adaptive Brightness” or “Power Saving Technology”
  4. Turn it off

Method 3: Using HP Command Center (on select HP models)

  1. Open HP Command Center from Start Menu
  2. Navigate to Thermal or Power settings
  3. Look for Display or Adaptive Brightness options
  4. Disable any auto-brightness or ambient light settings
