issue with my headphone jack whenever i turn on the computer and plugin my headphones it gets detected in the system.  But if plug in my headphones after 5mins of turnning on the system  its not getting detected..  so i tried changing he headphones and tried troubleshooting with my windows device driver everything looks fine but the issue is still occurring.BOS_Screnshot.jpg📲

one day eventually when i tried troubleshooting on the issue i noticed that  Hp BOS  Audio controls application was there i tried resetting the setting and then i pluged in the headphone it immediately gets detected but even after resetting if i plugin after 5mins its getting detected.  ITS STRANGE !!

So now whenever i want to plugin headphone i am going to Hp BOS Audio controls and resetting and then connecting the headphone that works all the time without system restart.

Is there any permanent solution ??  @Community pls help

Hi @joeyy_tribiyani,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • The exact HP model you’re using
  • Which version of Windows you’re running (Windows 10 or Windows 11)
  • Whether this issue started after a recent update or has always been present

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Update Audio Drivers
    • Open Device Manager → expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    • Right‑click your audio device (often Realtek or Conexant) → Update driver.
    • If that doesn’t help, reinstall the driver directly from HP’s support site for your model.
  2. Disable Audio Enhancements
    • Right‑click the speaker icon → Sound settings.
    • Under Output, select your headphones → Device properties.
    • Turn off audio enhancements, as these sometimes interfere with detection.
  3. Check HP BOS Audio Controls Settings
    • Since resetting fixes detection temporarily, check if there’s a setting for “Jack detection” or “Auto switch.” Make sure it’s enabled.
  4. Run Windows Troubleshooter
    • Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters.
    • Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter to detect conflicts.
  5. BIOS & Chipset Updates
    • Use HP Support Assistant to check for BIOS and chipset updates. These updates often fix hardware detection issues like headphone jacks.
  6. Test in Safe Mode
  • Boot into Windows Safe Mode and test plugging in headphones after 5 minutes. If they work there, a background app or driver conflict is likely the cause.

I hope this helps.
