It sounds like your laptop is stubbornly sticking to Polish despite your efforts to change the language settings. Let’s troubleshoot this step by step to get everything displaying in English:
Step 1: Install the English Language Pack
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Navigate to Time & Language > Language & Region.
- Under Preferred languages, click Add a language and search for English (United States).
- Select it, click Next, and ensure all language features (like display language and speech) are checked before clicking Install.
Step 2: Set English as the Display Language
- In the same Language & Region settings, select English (United States) from the Windows display language dropdown menu.
- Restart your laptop to apply the changes.
Step 3: Change System Locale
- Press Win + R, type control, and press Enter to open the Control Panel.
- Go to Clock and Region > Region > Administrative tab.
- Click Change system locale and select English (United States).
- Restart your laptop.
Step 4: Remove Polish Language (Optional)
- In Language & Region settings, click the three dots next to Polish under Preferred languages and select Remove.
- Restart your laptop to ensure Polish is no longer interfering.
Step 5: Check Keyboard Input
- In Language & Region settings, scroll down to Input and ensure the keyboard layout is set to English (United States).
- If Polish is listed, remove it.
Step 6: Verify Windows Version
If your laptop came with a Windows Single Language Edition, you might need to upgrade your Windows license to install additional language packs. Check your Windows version by pressing Win + R, typing winver, and pressing Enter.
